The Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir recently lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their “indomitable courage” in avenging the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack through Operation Sindoor. This operation targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, leading to the elimination of over 100 terrorists. The LG emphasized that the swift and decisive response showcased India’s unwavering commitment to national security and its resolve to combat terrorism.
The Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and one local, was attributed to militants from Lashkar-e-Taiba and The Resistance Front. The attackers specifically targeted individuals based on their religion, sparking widespread condemnation. In response, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, expelled Pakistani diplomats, and closed borders, signaling a firm stance against cross-border terrorism.
Operation Sindoor, approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was executed with precision to avoid civilian casualties while focusing on terrorist infrastructure. The operation received international support and was seen as a measured response to the attack, demonstrating India’s capability and discipline in countering terrorism.
The LG’s statement underscores the nation’s collective resolve and the valor of its armed forces in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and ensuring justice for the victims of the Pahalgam attack.
