Huf Hülsbeck and Fürst, a Germany-based automotive access and authorization systems manufacturer, has established a Tech Centre in Pune, India, to develop cutting-edge hardware and software solutions for car manufacturers globally. The new centre will focus on developing classic lock sets, door handles, and smart keys for the local market. Dirk Fischer, the COO of Huf, mentioned that India offers significant opportunities for growth and access to skilled workforce, making it an attractive market for investment.
Huf’s Tech Centre in India will work on both hardware and software development for smart keys, door handles, and other automotive access and authorization technologies. The company aims to leverage India’s engineering and R&D talent to expand its business and increase product testing and validation capabilities in the country.

Regarding growth plans in India, Fischer stated that the company expects to double its sales by 2030 and is pursuing an aggressive and ambitious growth strategy. The Tech Centre will play a crucial role in driving this growth by developing new technologies and products for the Indian market.
Huf’s key OEM clients include German premium brands like Volkswagen, Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, American brands like Ford and GM, and Asian brands like Hyundai and Kia. The company is also looking to adapt its products and designs to cater to the needs of volume Indian OEMs like Tata Motors and Mahindra.
The automotive industry is seeing a shift towards connectivity and smart technologies, and Huf is actively engaged in developing new access and authorization solutions, including mobile phone-based key authorization systems. The company is also exploring facial recognition technologies for future business opportunities.
