PULWAMA: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) on Wednesday in a special drive against Drug/ Poppy Cultivation has destroyed huge cultivation of Poppy spread over nearly about 13 Kanals at 08 Locations in Lethpora in Awantipora of Pulwama district.
As per the Police, by the special team of Police Awantipora headed by Sh Mumtaz Ali Bhatti SDPO AWANTIPORA (JKPS) along with SHO PS AWANTIPORA Sh Sumit Bhagat (JKPS ) Probationer DySp has conducted this drive.

Accordingly 07 FIR NOs. 83-84-85-86-87-88-89/2023 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station (PS) Awantipora against the illegal poppy cultivators.
Police has already advised all those who have cultivated Poppy or any other Narcotic substances anywhere in Awantipora, to destroy the same on their own, failing which they shall face strict action under law.
Police has requested the General Public of Awantipora to extend cooperation to the Awantipora Police and come forward with any information regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighbourhood.
