SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Shopian on Sunday have solved a burglary case by arresting 2 accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
As per the Police, On 29 April 2023, Police Station (PS) Shopian received an information that during the intervening night of 28/29 April 2023, a burglary was taken place in District Court Shopian. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation was initiated.
On receipt of this information, SSP Shopian Ms Tanu Shree-IPS constituted a SIT headed by DySP Hqrs Shopian and assisted by SHO Shopian to investigate the case.

During the investigation, the special team after using the technical and human resources zeroed in on two suspected persons for questioning who subsequently confessed their involvement in the commission of crime. They have been identified as Sadat Hussain son of Noor Hussain resident of Kotranka Kurhad Rajouri and Mohd Usman son of Mohd Ayoub resident of Kotedhra Rajouri.
On their disclosure, property stolen in different cases which include 06 mobile phones, old Indian currency notes of Rs 3,31,600/-, new Indian currency notes of Rs 36,750/-, 05 SIM cards, 03 carrying bags and a digital weighing machine were recovered. Moreover, officers have also seized 10.5 kgs of Charas powder from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
