JAMMU: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, Women Wing, Pavneet Kour on Friday expressed concern over lapse in development in Smart City Project undertaken by the Jammu Municipal Corporation.
“Jammu City was promised development but all the steps taken on the name of Smart City Project were implemented on ground in an unplanned manner by the authorities,” said Pavneet Kour.
Kour said that “The installation of street lights and sign boards does not make Jammu a Smart City unless traffic menace, unclean and stinking drains are cleaned, proper garbage collection and its disposal is done in an environmentally friendly manner.”

She further said that: “The pathways in the city are uprooted, and where the new tile work is started, it is done without taking into account the shopkeepers. The business has suffered because of unplanned development and several times, they have resented it.”
She also referred to the water rises and unscheduled power cuts in Jammu which has caused great inconvenience to the people.
“The unscheduled power cuts during the summer season especially in metered areas are highly condemnable and it shows how the PDD has collapsed to ensure round the clock electricity to the consumers. The electricity cuts have also adversely affected drinking water supply,” she added.
She was addressing a meeting which was organized by Shivani Koul. The meeting was attended by State General Secretary Youth Wing, Abhay Bakaya, Provincial President Youth Wing Jammu, Vipul Bali, District President Youth Wing, Shivam Choudhary, District President Women Wing, Ritu Pandita, Senior Vice President Youth Wing, Sandeep Vaid, District Abhinav Gupta, District Secretary Youth, Ankush Dogra and others.
