LEH: BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) unit of Ladakh on Thursday expelled its Vice President (VP) Nazir Ahmed from the primary membership of Party.
As per the Circular issued by the BJP Ladakh, General Secretary, Dr. Skalzang Dorjey, a meeting was held, which was chaired by its State President and by the executive members.
“Given ample time, Nasir Ahmed, state vice president of BJP Ladakh, was provided an opportunity to clarify his involvement in a sensitive issue of the elopement of a Buddhist girl by his son, Manzoor Ahmed,” it writes.
It further says that the incident is deemed unacceptable by all religious communities in Ladakh, as it jeopardizes communal harmony and unity among the people of region.
“As a result, a decision has been reached to promptly relieve Nazir Ahmed of his responsibilities as state vice president and revoke his primary membership within BJP with immediate effect,” it added.
