UDHAMPUR: District Drug Destruction Committee Udhampur on Wednesday destroyed about 1500 Kilograms of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances seized in 78 different cases.
As per the Police, The District Drug Destruction Committe headed by Dr Vinod Kumar-IPS SSP Udhampur and comprising of Anwar Ul Haq Addl. SP Udhampur, Shahid Nahiem DySP DAR Udhampur, Gurmeet Singh DySP Hqrs Udhampur, Vishal Manhas SDPO Ramnagar, Darshan Singh Sr. PO Udhampur and Om Parkash DySP DPO Udhampur, conducted the destruction of narcotic and psychotropic substances seized in different 78 cases through incineration in M/S Anmol Healthcare Rakh Rara, Swankha Morh, Vijaypur, Samba.

During incineration 1380 Kilograms of poppy straw, 85 Kilograms of Charas, 1 Kilo 200 Grams of Heroin (chitta) and 816 number of proxyvon capsules have been duly incinerated following all the codal formalities.
The entire process was done in which Executive Magistrate and officers from Pollution Control Board also accompanied the drug destruction committee. Before this the seized nacrotics in all the 78 cases were case wise checked, weighted and tallied with the record.
The entire process, right from godown upto incinerator was duly videographed and kept under proper security.
Pertinently these 78 cases have already been decided by the Hon’ble courts and were shortlisted by a comittee comprising of CJM, ADC and Addl SP Udhampur Police Media Centre Udhampur Reasi Range Police.
