Army organizes Sarpanch Sammelan at Metra, Ramban

RAMBAN: Indian Army on Monday organised a Sarpanch Sammelan at Metra in Ramban district with an aim to provide a platform for the Sarpanches of various villages of Ramban district to discuss their governance issues with civil administration and seek solutions issues concerning growth and development of their villages.

As per the handout, the event saw the participation of the Panchayat Representatives and Moulvis of Jamia Masjids who were provided with an opportunity to interact with government official duly facilitated by the Indian Army.

The participants engaged in discussion on topic such as Women Empowerment, Health Care, Social Media Awareness, Drug Awareness, recently launched Government policies on rural development and agriculture.

The event also brought out a major need of combining the conventional education along with the religious education in the Madarssas of the region for which steps were chalked out to be taken ahead by the Moulvis of the Madarssas.

The event also spread awareness upon various initiatives taken by the Indian Army for the welfare of the rural community. The Sarpanches, Moulvis and other civil administrative representatives appreciated the initiative taken by the Indian Army and expressed their gratitude for providing them with a platform to voice their concerns and seek solutions.

They also praised the Indian Army’s efforts on rural development and expressed their willingness to work closely with Indian Army in the future. The Sarpanch Sammelan was part of Indian Army ongoing efforts to strengthen the bond between the Indian Army and the Awam. The event was a great success and received positive feedback from all the participants.
