NSUI National President Neeraj Kundan met protesting wrestlers, extends support

NEW DELHI: Congress’ student wing NSUI’s Chief Neeraj Kundan on Wednesday reached the protesters site at Jantar Mantar and extended his support to the protesting wrestlers.

As per release, the protest was led by the top wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh entered Day-4 on Wednesday against BJP MP and WFI chief Brijbhushan alleging sexual harassment to wrestling players.

After meeting the students Neeraj Kundan said that these wrestlers brought pride to Nation many a times through their performances in International games, many of the young students and sports enthusiasts looks up to these wrestlers to make there career in sports and represent the country but today they feel disappointed to see that the man who holds the responsibility of WFI, BJP MP Brijbhushan Singh molests and harasses young women players and government strongly stands with such elements.

Neeraj said that the role of Delhi Police in such cases raises serious doubts on the intentions of the Home Minister and senior police officers of Delhi Police as after 2 months of Bharat Jodo Yatra’s conclusion, Officers of Delhi Police reached Rahul Gandhi Ji’s residence to know the details on the basis of his statement that women gets harassed but don’t report to the police, but here at Jantar Mantar those who got harassed are protesting because the same Delhi police is not registering the FIR against the sexual harassment case, clearly the Delhi police is not serious in dealing with the women harassment cases and the department has become morally corrupt as it acts politically on the instructions of home minister.

We will take the issue to all the campuses in the country and seek student’s support for our National Heroes added Neeraj.
