JAMMU: Slamming present UT Rule for pushing People in JK into dark era, former Minister and Zonal President JKNC, Babu Rampaul on Tuesday stated that everybody is unhappy and restless and eagerly waiting for conduct of Assembly elections to elect a popular government.
As per statement, Rampaul was addressing a meeting organized by Dr Vikas Sharma, Zonal Secretary and Coordinator District Jammu (Urban) here on Tuesday.
He said, “National Conference (NC) is the only party which believes in secularism and can fight for the rights of the downtrodden class of the society. Party has taken many historic decisions in the past for the welfare of the marginalized sections of the society.”
“From Sher-E-Kashmir to Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah it has served the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir with utmost honesty and dedication”, Babu Rampaul added.

He exhorted upon NC cadre to launch a full throttle campaign and reach out the masses explaining what they got during NC rule and what they were getting now. “It is our duty to tell the people that peace and prosperity comes with social bonding not divisive politics. Ask the people to support our party wholeheartedly to revive the good old days of NC rule in J&K,” he asked the cadre.
While sharing the achievements and good work done by NC during its governance, Coordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary JKNC, Dr Vikas Sharma disclosed that during NC Government during the chief ministership of Omar Abdullah provided Degree College in each tehsil of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir as even buildings and faculty were also made available to start functioning of colleges. But this government did nothing to improve the structural facilities in the colleges, he added.
He also mentioned that during the Omar Abdullah led NC government, jobs were provided to a large number of youth, RTI Act was enacted to eradicate corruption and several other revolutionary steps were taken to push J&K on the path of development.
